Once you’ve mixed together the basic fondant recipe, you can use food coloring to tint the white fondant any color. It’s a good idea to use gloves during the tinting process because you need to work the coloring in with your hands.

Here are some ideas for using fondant:

Roll the fondant 3/16-inch thick in the general shape of your cake if you want to cover a frosted layer cake.
