Ham, Cheese and Broccoli Strata

Ingredients
10 cups cubed (1 inch) sourdough bread
2 cups Land O Lakes® Half & Half
1 1
2 teaspoons kosher salt1
2 teaspoon ground mustard1
2 teaspoon paprika1
2 teaspoon pepper16 ounces (4 cups) Land O Lakes® Sharp Cheddar Farmstyle Cut Shredded Cheese

2 cups (8 ounces) diced ham2 cups frozen broccoli florets, thawed, chopped into bite-sized pieces
3 tablespoons sliced green onions
How to make

STEP 1
Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 13x9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.

Scatter bread cubes over rimmed baking sheet. Place in oven; toast bread cubes 10 minutes. Stir cubes; bake 10 minutes longer or until lightly browned and dried. Set aside to cool.

Whisk eggs in large bowl; whisk in half & half and seasonings. Add toasted bread cubes; toss until well coated. Layer half of bread cubes, 8 ounces cheese, ham and broccoli in prepared baking dish. Cover with remaining bread cubes, pouring any remaining egg mixture evenly over top. Sprinkle evenly with remaining cheese. Cover baking dish tightly with foil; refrigerate overnight.

Remove strata from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Heat oven to 400°F.

Bake, covered, 45 minutes. Remove foil; bake 15 minutes or until strata is deep golden brown, eggs are set and cheese is melted. Garnish with sliced green onions. Let stand 15 minutes before slicing.
Tip #1
This recipe calls for thawed frozen broccoli, which is convenient, provides extra moisture and retains a lovely bright green color. Substituting fresh broccoli isn’t recommended.
Tip #2
To prevent sticking, use nonstick foil or lightly spray foil with nonstick cooking spray before covering.
