Ingredients

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter with Canola Oil

1 medium (1 cup) onion, chopped

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh garlic

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, if desired

1 pound lean ground beef (not less than 80% lean)

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 quart chicken or beef stock

1 cup Land O Lakes® Heavy Whipping Cream

1 pound uncooked dried small shell pasta  

1 (8-ounce) bag (2 cups) Land O Lakes® Medium Cheddar Farmstyle Cut Shredded Cheese

Chopped fresh herbs, as desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Melt Butter with Canola Oil in stockpot over medium heat. Add onion; cook, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until softened. Add tomato paste, chili powder, garlic and red pepper flakes, if desired; cook, stirring frequently, 1 minute. Add beef, salt and pepper; cook, breaking up beef, 7-8 minutes or until cooked through. Add stock and whipping cream; bring to a simmer.

  2. STEP 2

    Add pasta; simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, 12-14 minutes or until pasta is tender, reducing heat if needed. Remove from heat; stir in cheese until melted. Serve hot, sprinkled with herbs as desired.
