Shortcut Chicken Alfredo Bake

Ingredients

16 ounces uncooked dried penne

3 cups chicken stock

2 1/2 cups refrigerated Alfredo sauce

8 ounces (2 cups) cooked chicken, shredded or diced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 (8-ounce) package (2 cups) Land O Lakes® Creamy Italian Blend Cheese, shredded

2 ounces (1/2 cup) Land O Lakes® Aged Italian Blend Fine Cut Shredded Cheese

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Heat oven to 425°F.

  2. STEP 2

    Combine penne, chicken stock, Alfredo sauce, chicken and garlic powder in 13x9-inch baking dish; stir to mix. Cover tightly with aluminum foil; bake 35 minutes.

  3. STEP 3

    Remove baking dish from oven; uncover. Stir mixture. Test pasta for doneness—it should be al dente. If pasta is too firm, continue baking, covered, 10-15 minutes or until al dente. Sprinkle with Italian Blend cheese.

  4. STEP 4

    Bake uncovered 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and lightly browned. Garnish with Aged Italian cheese and chopped parsley; let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Tip #1

Using rotisserie chicken, refrigerated Alfredo sauce and uncooked pasta are smart shortcuts for a restaurant-worthy meal. Make a salad or steamed broccoli while the casserole bakes and dinner is on the table in under an hour.

Tip #2

Use your favorite pasta shape instead of penne—just adjust the cooking time to achieve al dente texture. Rotini, macaroni or cavatappi will all make for a satisfying final dish.
