Ingredients

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted, cooled

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/4 cup large grain sugar, if desired

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine granulated sugar and butter in bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add melted chocolate chips, egg and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed. Stir in mini chocolate chips.

  2. STEP 2

    Divide dough in half; shape each half into 7-inch log. Wrap each in plastic food wrap; refrigerate 1-2 hours or until firm.

  3. STEP 3

    Heat oven to 375°F.

    Cut logs into 3/8-inch slices with sharp knife. Place, 1 inch apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle cookies with large grain sugar, if desired. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack.

Tip #1

For smaller cookies, divide dough in half; shape each half into 12-inch log. Continue as directed. 60 cookies
