Butter-Cream Baked Apples
Whole apples are baked with butter and sugar that turns into a rich sauce when cream is added.

Ingredients
4 medium baking apples, cored, unpeeled

2 cup sugar 4 cup1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon cold water

STEP 1
Heat oven to 450°F. Place apples into 1 1/2- or 2-quart ungreased round glass baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar; dot with butter. Bake, basting and turning twice, 20-30 minutes or until apples are fork tender.

Combine cornstarch and water in bowl; add cream. Set aside.

Remove apples from pan. Pour cream mixture into pan; stir. Return apples to pan. Continue baking 8-10 minutes or until sauce thickens and bubbles.

Place apples onto individual serving plates. Spoon sauce over warm apples.
