Get started!

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

6 slices bacon, cut into thirds

1 small (1/2 cup) onion, cut into 1/8-inch slices

1 tablespoon Land O Lakes® Butter, cut into small pieces

8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® White Deli American

4 (4-inch) pretzel buns, split

2 tablespoons honey mustard

*Substitute any mustard, such as Dijon mustard.

How to make

  1. STEP 1

Shape ground beef into 4 patties. Season burgers with salt and pepper; set aside.

  2. STEP 2

Heat gas grill to medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.

  3. STEP 3

Arrange bacon in single layer in 10x8-inch disposable aluminum pan or grill-safe pan. Top with onion slices and butter pieces. Place pan onto one side of grill. Grill, turning bacon occasionally, 15 minutes or until bacon is cooked and onion is golden brown. If bacon or onion starts to brown too quickly, move pan away from heat.

  4. STEP 4

Place patties onto other side of grill while bacon and onions are cooking. Grill burgers, turning once, 12-15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F or desired doneness. Top each burger with 2 slices cheese during last minute of cooking.

  5. STEP 5

Place buns, cut-sides down, onto grill. Cook 1-2 minutes or until toasted.

  6. STEP 6

Spread mustard onto cut-sides of toasted buns. Place burgers and bacon mixture onto bottom half of buns. Cover with top half of buns.
