Ingredients
Gingerbread
3 Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
4 cup1
2 cup firmly packed brown sugar1
4 cup molasses1 3
4 cups all-purpose flour1 1
2 teaspoons baking soda1
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon1
2 teaspoon ground cloves1
2 teaspoon ground ginger1
2 teaspoon ground nutmeg1
4 teaspoon saltFrosting
3 cups powdered sugar
1 Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
3 cup1 teaspoon vanilla
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
Green food color
Decorations
Decorator sugars and candies, as desired
How to make

STEP 1
Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil; set aside.

Combine 3/4 cup butter, brown sugar, molasses and egg in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add all remaining gingerbread ingredients; beat at low speed until well mixed. Cover; refrigerate 1-2 hours or until firm.

Heat oven to 350°F.

Divide dough in half. Pat each half of dough onto prepared cookie sheet to 12x9-inch tree shape with 3x2-inch base. Smooth edges of dough with knife. Bake 12-15 minutes or until no indentation remains when touched. Cool completely.

Combine powdered sugar, 1/3 cup butter and vanilla in bowl. Beat at low speed, gradually adding enough milk, for desired spreading consistency. Stir in food color. Frost cooled trees; decorate as desired.
