8 cups fruit-flavored crisp rice cereal
2 cup1 (10-ounce) package regular marshmallows
Powdered sugar, if desired
Frosting
2 cups powdered sugar
1 Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
4 cup1 teaspoon vanilla
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
How to make
-
STEP 1
Place cereal into large bowl. Spray 15x10x1-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
-
STEP 2
Melt 1/2 cup butter in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat; add marshmallows. Cook, stirring constantly, 4-5 minutes or until marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat. Pour marshmallow mixture over cereal. Stir until well coated.
-
STEP 3
Press cereal mixture evenly into prepared pan using buttered spatula. Let cool 30 minutes.
-
STEP 4
Invert pan onto sheet of waxed paper.
-
STEP 5
Trace around small child's hand on lightweight cardboard; cut to form a pattern. To make mittens, place pattern on cereal mixture; cut around pattern with table knife. Shape remaining cereal mixture with buttered hands into 1 1/2-inch snowballs. Roll snowballs in powdered sugar, if desired.
-
STEP 6
Combine all frosting ingredients except milk in small bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often and gradually adding enough milk for desired spreading consistency.
-
STEP 7
Spoon frosting into heavy resealable plastic food bag. Snip tiny tip from one corner to make a very small hole. Decorate mittens with frosting as desired.
