Marie's Chocolate Cake

Ingredients
2 cups granulated sugar
1 Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
2 cup 2 cup buttermilk2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1
2 teaspoon salt1 cup boiling water
Powdered sugar, if desired
Land O Lakes® Heavy Whipping Cream, whipped, sweetened, if desired
*Substitute 1 teaspoon vinegar or lemon juice and enough milk to equal 1/2 cup. Let stand 5 minutes.
How to make

STEP 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside.

Combine granulated sugar and butter in bowl; beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add buttermilk, melted chocolate, eggs and vanilla; continue beating until smooth. Add flour, baking soda and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed. Add boiling water; continue beating until smooth.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 40-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Dust cake with powdered sugar or serve with dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
