Oven-Steamed Rice

Ingredients
1 tablespoon Land O Lakes® Butter
1 cup uncooked white long-grain white rice
2 cups boiling water
1 teaspoon salt
How to make

STEP 1
Heat oven to 350°F.

Place butter in small microwave-safe dish. Microwave 15 seconds or until melted.

Combine melted butter, rice, water and salt in 2-quart casserole dish. Cover; bake 25-30 minutes or until all water is absorbed. Let stand covered 5 minutes; fluff with fork before serving.
Tip #1
Wondering if the type of white rice in your pantry is long-grain? Packages are often labeled "long-grain white rice," but Basmati and Jasmine are also considered long-grain. These types of rice produce distinctly firm grains that stay fluffy and separate after cooking.
Tip #2
The ratio of long-grain white rice to water is always 1:2. If you are using medium-grain white rice, use 1/4 cup less water.
