Ingredients

1 cup pitted whole dates, chopped

3 cup orange juice2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch

2 teaspoon ground allspice1
2 cup chopped pecansCrust

2 cups all-purpose flour1
2 cup sugar1
2 teaspoon baking powder 2 cup coldDrizzle

2 cup powdered sugar1 tablespoon orange juice
How to make

STEP 1
Combine all filling ingredients except pecans in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 2-3 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in pecans.

Heat oven to 375°F.

Combine flour, sugar and baking powder in large bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg. Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture.

Press remaining crumb mixture on bottom of ungreased 8-inch square baking pan. Spread filling to within 1/4 inch of edge. Crumble reserved crumb mixture over filling. Bake 28-32 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely.

Combine all drizzle ingredients in bowl; mix well. Drizzle over bars. Cut into bars.
