Toasted Almond Macaroon Bars

Ingredients
Crust

4 cups all-purpose flour1 Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

2 cup firmly packed brown sugar1
4 cup light corn syrup1 Land O Lakes® Butter, melted
4 cup1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups sweetened flaked coconut

4 cup slivered almonds, chopped, toastedDrizzle

3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips2 teaspoons shortening
How to make

STEP 1
Heat oven to 350°F.

Combine all crust ingredients in medium bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture evenly onto bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 12-15 minutes or until just beginning to brown.

Meanwhile, combine all filling ingredients except coconut and almonds in medium bowl; mix well. Stir in coconut and almonds. Spread evenly over hot, partially baked crust. Bake 20-30 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely.

Place chocolate chips and shortening in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 1 minute; stir. Continue microwaving 30 seconds; stir until smooth. Drizzle over bars. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
